Dr. Nchang Taka is an interventional cardiologist and endovascular specialist and the founder of Heart Vascular & Vein Care Clinic (HVVC) in Columbus, Georgia. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular disease, with expertise in advanced minimally invasive endovascular treatment for peripheral artery disease (PAD).
A major focus of Dr. Taka’s practice is limb preservation. Through HVVC’s Limb Salvage Program, he provides comprehensive evaluation and advanced endovascular treatment for patients with complex peripheral artery disease, including patients with non-healing wounds and those at risk for limb loss. Using minimally invasive techniques to restore blood flow to the lower extremities, his goal is to improve circulation, promote wound healing, relieve symptoms, preserve mobility, and, whenever possible, help prevent amputation.
Dr. Taka completed his cardiovascular disease fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and his interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Kentucky. He further advanced his vascular expertise through specialized advanced endovascular training at Fusion Vascular Institute in Cleveland, Mississippi.
Prior to his fellowship training, Dr. Taka completed his internal medicine residency and served as Chief Resident at Grady Memorial Hospital/Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. He received his medical education from Université de Yaoundé I Faculté de Médecine et des Sciences Biomédicales in Cameroon.
Before founding Heart Vascular & Vein Care Clinic in 2023, Dr. Taka practiced as an interventional cardiologist and endovascular specialist at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center. He established HVVC to provide patients with comprehensive cardiovascular care in a personalized outpatient setting, bringing together preventive cardiology, diagnostic testing, medical management, and minimally invasive cardiovascular and peripheral vascular interventions.
Whether managing cardiovascular disease or treating complex peripheral artery disease, Dr. Taka’s goal is to provide patients with the knowledge and treatment options they need to achieve the best possible long-term outcome.
